Ahh, what a great line and a great movie! I watched that the other day and it cracked me up.

Anyways, there’s a few things that’s been going on lately. My niece, Isabella, is in town from Vegas and it has been fun having her here. I have some pics I’ll try to put up in the Isabella section of my blog soon. She will turn two in December and she is funny as ever. She walks all over the place finding things to get into as most toddlers do. Her favorite thing to do out here in Oklahoma is to play outside. Obviously, out in Vegas, there isn’t much grass or trees or vegetation so when we put her outside on the grass to play it was like a new world to her. She kept the grass and dirt and wouldn’t really move much until we put shoes on her. My sister has two big in house dogs at her house and they have gotten used to Isabella being around and yelling at them. No clue what she is saying, but she yells at animals. We have a blue heeler and Isabella plays nice with her, but even more she loves our cat. She screams and chases it everywhere. It’s the funniest thing ever. It’s going to be interesting to see how she handles going back to Vegas where she doesn’t get to play outside much except for at daycare.

Well, working in the vault has its ups and downs and one of the ups is getting to watch movies in our dead time which can range from 10 minutes up to an hour, but one of the downs is not knowing what you are going to watch. Most of us usually bring something and we’ll decide and honestly there have been some good movies I would have never wasted my time on, such as the Spiderwick Chronicles. Surprisingly it is a really good movie. And then there are some duds that I haven’t watched to this day for a reason, but get stuck watching it anyways. And that movie would be Taxi, with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon. I’m assuming that anyone who reads my blog hasn’t seen it, especially with Jimmy Fallon in it. So Queen Latifah is a bike delivery person who can do amazing things in New York and wants to become a taxi driver. Her taxi looks plain but when she needs to go fast, her taxi changes…into a kit car with different rims, muffler, engine, etc. Stupid, I know. Fallon plays a cop who can’t drive well and ends up using Latifah to chase down some criminals. Yes, it is one of the worst ideas for a movie and yes Fallon still isn’t funny. Everytime he tried to make a joke, it wasn’t funny. Homer says it best; “What are you kids laughing at? If you say Jimmy Fallon, I’ll know you’re lying!”

Speaking of movies, I sacrificed some sleep last Thursday night to go see the midnight showing of The Dark Knight. And my review….IT’S FAWESOME!!!!! Everyone should go see it. Ledger did an amazing job with The Joker and Harvey Dent/Two Face was great too. I won’t say anymore. Just go see it.

I don’t get to watch the Daily Show or the Colbert Report due to my schedule, but I did happen to catch this segment at a friends house from the Daily Show. It’s quite hilarious.

It’s that time of the month again. For some women it is, but for me it’s time to update. It has been a month since I have updated and there’s no way that I am going to be posting what all happened in the last month, cause frankly I barely remember what happened last week as opposed to the past month. So lets get started.

I told you in my last post that I started a weight contest against three other friends and it’s time for my update. Yeah, I know most of you are thinking that if you could bet on me still working out or being a lazy ass…most of you would pick lazy ass. But to yours and my own surprise, I have been consistent in weight lifting and running for the past 6 weeks. I have lost 18 lbs and I now weigh in at 298 lbs. Hopefully, I can keep it up. I think that I am leading in the contest, but I’m not sure about my friend’s wife who is in Iraq right now. One thing’s for sure is that the contest is now between her and I. More frequent updates to come.

I have been doing my share of watching movies. The choice and quality of movies have finally picked up this summer. I was wondering there for a while cause when this year started there were a lot of sucky movies being put out. Anyways, I saw The Happening, The Incredible Hulk, What Happens in Vegas, and The Love Guru. Here are my quick takes about the movies. (These are mostly opinions so you don’t have to worry about spoilers…yes, I’m thinking of you Josh and all the other people who hate, including me, with a passion people who talk about movies before we have had a chance to see them).

The Happening - This is M. Night Shyamalan’s first rated R film due to some graphic nature in the film. Personally, I liked it and it’s hard to explain the movie in general. I don’t think that it is his best movie, but it’s good. There are going to be a lot of people who are going to give it negative reviews, but you really have to see it yourself to create your own opinion. Just don’t take someone elses word for it.

The Incredible Hulk - It’s a good superhero movie, but it won’t surpass the best superhero movie of the year so far which is Iron Man (But that’s going to end come July 18th, when The Dark Knight opens). One thing is for sure, it’s definitely better than the one they made a few years back.

What Happens in Vegas - Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz make a great comedic pair in this film. I did see this at the dollar show, but it would have been worth it to see it at regular price. Most of the Vegas part happens in the Planet Hollywood Casino. It’s definitely worth seeing at least once.

The Love Guru - Mike Myers has done it again with this movie. This is the funniest movie that I have seen this year. And yes, the movie is full of dick and fart jokes and this is why I like it so much, but it’s definitely worth seeing over and over again. I’ll leave you with this quote from the movie: I know that you will help me off this elephant, but if your Uncle Jack was up here, would you help your Uncle Jack off this elephant!

Well, this is sort of random but George Carlin passed away yesterday. I don’t remember much about him except few of the films he was in, like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma, and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I never really got into his comedy routine. Anyways, I was reading about his death and they mentioned a monologue he did called “Seven Dirty Words” and obviously I looked it up to see what it was. And as it turns out, it was the basis of a Blink-182 song, Family Reunion. I’m probably behind on this, but I didn’t know that. You learn something new every day. I’m done now. This post is done now.

…Well according to the 64 mascot playoff that the Daily Oklahoman did online, it would be the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder beat out the Outlaws, Thunderbirds, and the Barons in the Final Four. But it’s not a binding name to the team when it comes to Oklahoma. Not really sure what to think about the names just yet.

The graphic at the top is one someone made for the Oklahoma City Barons. It’s not bad, but I’m not sure what kind of Barons they are talking about (i.e. oil barons, the red baron, etc). One things for sure is that I’ll take any of those names over the one Bob Barry loved. It was the Oklahoma City Land Run. Are you kidding me? The Land Run? What kind of mascot is that? Of course this is the guy on the Sports Animal who talks to people like “Lumber Lady” and “Running Girl” and the only topics he covers are running, women’s basketball, hockey, and women’s basketball. So why should I expect a good idea from him.

I will update you on my weight loss here soon. I have been pretty busy with some website work and so on. So until next time.
